Arizona Cardinals defensive close J.J. Watt declared on Tuesday early morning that he is retiring from the NFL when Arizona’s period ends Jan. 8.

Watt, who was initially drafted by the Houston Texans out of Wisconsin in the 2011 NFL draft, has 111.5 career sacks — including 9.5 this season. He is a person of three players in NFL heritage, along with Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor and Los Angeles Rams defensive deal with Aaron Donald, to get the league’s Defensive Player of the Calendar year award a few situations. Watt gained the award in 2012, 2014 and 2015.

Watt also received the Walter Payton NFL Male of the Year Award in 2017 for his function to enable Houston recover from harm through Hurricane Harvey.
